Leading Engineering Company, specialists in the energy sector, seeks an experienced offshore/marine equipment engineer with managerial and commercial skills to lead their UK operations. You will be an experienced Civil/Structural/Naval/Mechanical engineer with a background in the Marine/Offshore environment, focusing on equipment design, transportation, and installation.
THE COMPANY: Specialists in offshore equipment design and build for offshore wind, tidal, wave, and oil & gas. Projects include the design and build of equipment required for large-scale transportation and installation of offshore wind turbines, including stress, finite element, loads modelling, seafastening, heavy lifting, and pile grippers. This is a fast-growing, innovative company that offers excellent opportunities for technical and personal development.
The Role: A senior role for a Civil/Structural/Naval/Mechanical engineer with Transportation & Installation experience in Marine/Offshore T&I. You will be capable of leading a UK office for a leading engineering consultancy. This role encompasses a mix of business development, strategy, and management. It is essential to have large-scale civil/structural engineering experience in the offshore/marine environment.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
- Mechanical/Structural/Civil Engineering degree or similar
- Marine/Offshore engineering experience
- Civil/Structural/Mechanical engineering in Marine/Offshore Environment
- Offshore Energy Transportation & Installation (O&G/wind turbine T&I)
- Experience with equipment used in the installation/transportation/lifting of large heavy steel structures (e.g., jackets/monopiles)
- Excellent communication skills: written, chairing meetings, presentations, and client-facing
Advantageous Experience:
- Strong network within the energy sector for developing new business
- Engineering Management/Business Development/Commercial Management experience
- Familiarity with certification agencies such as DNV-GL, Lloyds Register, and Bureau Veritas
It is essential to have civil/structural engineering experience in marine/offshore, ideally in heavy equipment design/transportation/installation. A BEng/MEng Engineering degree in Structural, Civil, or Mechanical is required. Our client has an excellent attitude towards ongoing personal development, training, and development.
