A chance to build your profile in a specialist area of Private Client law, take ownership of quality work and help shape the future of a growing trusts and tax team.

If trusts and tax are areas you particularly enjoy, and you are looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise with client relationships and business development, this could be an exciting next step.

We are working with a highly regarded, award-winning law firm looking to strengthen its Private Client team with an experienced Trusts and Tax Solicitor. This is an opportunity to develop your specialism within an established practice, take responsibility for a varied caseload and play an active part in growing the firm's trusts offering.

With a strong reputation, a long history of providing legal services and offices across the UK, the firm offers the scale and resources of an established practice alongside a culture that encourages independent thinking and new ideas.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • A genuine specialist focus: Develop your expertise in trusts, trust administration and tax advice, working on a varied and interesting caseload.
  • Opportunity to influence: Play an active role in developing the trusts and tax offering and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Autonomy and responsibility: Manage your own work and client relationships, with the confidence to make decisions and deliver advice with minimal supervision.
  • An established, award-winning firm: Join a practice with over 200 years of history and a strong reputation for quality.
  • Flexible location: With offices across several UK locations, there is flexibility around where you are based.
  • A firm that invests in its people: LawNet Mark of Excellence and Investors in People Gold accreditation reflect its commitment to quality and professional development.

The role

You will join the Private Client team with a particular focus on trusts and tax, managing a varied caseload and providing specialist advice to clients.

Your work will include:

  • Advising on trust settlements and the creation of trusts.
  • Managing trust administration and ongoing trust matters.
  • Providing specialist tax advice in relation to trusts and wider private client matters.
  • Building strong, lasting relationships with clients and professional contacts.
  • Managing matters with a high degree of autonomy, maintaining excellent technical and client care standards.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop the trusts and tax practice and contributing to wider business development.
  • Supporting the development of the team, sharing your knowledge and helping colleagues build their expertise.
  • Maintaining compliance with the firm's quality procedures and management systems.

This is more than a purely fee-earning position. The firm is looking for someone who wants to contribute to the continued success of the practice, develop relationships and help identify where further opportunities lie.

About you

You will be a qualified Solicitor with ideally 3+ years' PQE and a good grounding in Private Client work, together with practical experience in trusts and tax.

You will bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of trusts, trust administration and relevant tax matters.
  • The confidence to manage your own caseload and provide advice with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach to business development, with an interest in developing new opportunities.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the development of colleagues.
  • Good organisation, commercial awareness and sound professional judgement.

Previous experience of helping to develop a team or specialist service would be particularly useful. Equally, if you are an experienced solicitor looking for the opportunity to take on more responsibility and develop your profile in this area, it is worth a conversation.

A firm that recognises its people

The firm places considerable emphasis on creating a positive working environment where people are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop their careers and feel valued.

It has achieved both the LawNet Mark of Excellence and Investors in People Gold accreditation, reflecting its commitment to the quality of its work and the people delivering it.

The benefits package is also particularly attractive, including:

  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off.
  • The option to purchase additional holiday.
  • Private healthcare options for you and your family.
  • Healthcare cash-back plans and wider wellbeing support.
  • Enhanced employer pension contributions.
  • Life assurance at four times annual salary.
  • Cycle to Work and Electric Vehicle schemes.
  • Vouchers to celebrate significant life events, including marriage and the arrival of a child.
