About the Role

You’ll be working as part of a highly regarded Private Client team spread across several offices, collaborating on a wide variety of private client matters. You’ll take the lead on your own caseload, while also having opportunities to mentor junior colleagues and contribute to business development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Running a diverse caseload including wills, trusts, probate, complex estate administration (often with agricultural/business elements), tax and succession planning
  • Advising on mental capacity, Court of Protection matters, and powers of attorney
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Building long-term relationships with clients and referrers
  • Attending networking and business development events to grow your profile and the firm’s presence
  • Making full use of modern case management and communication tools to support your work

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re open to a range of experience levels – if you’re passionate about private client work and either have solid experience or a relevant training seat under your belt, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
  • 2+ years' PQE in private client work – though NQs with a seat and passion in this area are encouraged to apply
  • Confidence in handling matters such as estate administration, inheritance tax, and advising vulnerable clients (appropriate to your PQE)
  • An interest in building relationships with clients and contacts, with a commercial awareness of how the practice grows
  • A positive, team-focused attitude
  • A willingness to work flexibly, including some client-facing activities outside normal hours
  • Additional qualifications such as STEP or SFE are desirable but not essential – support is available to help you achieve them.
  • A desire for ongoing learning is a must!
