Brixton, London | Full-Time | Competitive Salary | Future Hybrid Flexibility
Looking for a role where you'll genuinely make a difference? This is far more than a traditional office management position. We're working with a well-established, highly regarded law firm that has built an excellent reputation through exceptional client care, repeat business and personal recommendations. As the firm continues to grow, they're looking for an experienced Office Manager to become the operational heartbeat of the practice.
Working closely with the firm's Principal Solicitor, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the business runs efficiently, supporting the legal team, improving processes and helping shape the firm's future growth. If you enjoy variety, thrive in a busy legal environment and love bringing order to fast-moving workloads, this could be an incredibly rewarding next step.
Why This Role Stands Out
- A genuinely varied position β no two days are the same. You'll be involved in everything from client care and case management to compliance, office operations and improving internal systems.
- A role where your ideas matter β you'll have the opportunity to introduce new ways of working and help modernise processes as the firm continues to develop.
- A supportive, close-knit team β work alongside experienced legal professionals in a friendly, approachable environment where your contribution will be highly valued.
- Future flexibility β the role is office-based initially while you get to know the business, with the opportunity for some hybrid working once you're fully established.
The Role
As Office Manager, you'll become the central point of coordination for the practice, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes while delivering an outstanding experience for clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day administration of a busy legal office
- Being the first point of contact for clients, handling enquiries professionally and compassionately
- Opening new matters, maintaining accurate case records and supporting file management
- Managing and updating the firm's case management system (LEAP experience would be advantageous)
- Supporting compliance procedures, including file opening and AML processes
- Coordinating appointments, diaries and correspondence
- Assisting with billing administration and general office operations
- Helping improve systems and processes to support the firm's continued growth
- Providing practical day-to-day support to the Principal Solicitor and wider legal team
Depending on your experience, there may also be opportunities to assist with straightforward legal documentation and additional project work.
About You
This role would suit someone with experience working within a legal environment who enjoys taking ownership and keeping everything organised. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience working within a law firm in an office management, legal support or senior administrative role
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of legal compliance procedures
- Experience using a legal case management system (LEAP would be highly desirable)
- Outstanding communication and client care skills
- A proactive, practical approach with a genuine willingness to get involved wherever needed
Experience within immigration, family, probate, housing or wider civil litigation would be advantageous, although candidates from other legal disciplines with strong transferable experience are equally encouraged to apply.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary, tailored to your experience
- The opportunity to become a key member of a respected and growing legal practice
- A varied role with genuine autonomy and responsibility
- Future hybrid working once systems are established
- A supportive, friendly and collaborative working environment
- The chance to help shape the operational future of a successful law firm
- Long-term career stability and the opportunity to grow alongside the business
