Senior Tax Accountant – Lead, Advise and Shape a Trusted Private Client Service in Norwich

If you are a senior tax specialist who thrives on complex advisory work and guiding others, this role puts you right at the heart of a respected Private Client team in East Anglia. You will be the go to expert for solicitors and clients alike, offering the high level tax insight that completes and strengthens the firm’s overall service.

You will focus on strategic, client facing tax advice while a skilled team of tax executives handles the day to day. This gives you the freedom to tackle more technical matters, oversee quality and provide the calm, informed guidance that clients genuinely value. The work is varied, interesting and often deeply meaningful.

Hybrid working is the norm, with two days a week in the office and flexibility built around your needs.

What you will be doing

• Delivering high level tax advice to individuals, executors and trustees
• Overseeing tax executives and reviewing their day to day work
• Advising on complex income tax and capital gains tax issues, including planning and mitigation
• Preparing or reviewing 60 day CGT returns on residential property disposals
• Leading on complex estate and trust accounts
• Handling tax during the administration period and finalising lifetime tax affairs for deceased individuals
• Advising on stamp duty land tax
• Preparing or reviewing Inheritance Tax forms for trusts
• Working closely with solicitors, providing the specialist support that enhances their client work
• Advising clients with French assets in collaboration with the French property team
• Training and supporting junior colleagues
• Helping to promote and grow the Trusts and Tax service

About you

• Solid senior level experience in tax and trust accounting
• ATT, ACA, ACCA or TEP qualified
• Confident managing complex and sensitive client matters
• Experience of overseas domiciled taxation
• Excellent technical knowledge across UK taxation for individuals, estates and trusts
• A clear communicator who enjoys client contact and mentoring others
