Are you a senior Private Client Lawyer looking for a role where you can genuinely shape and grow a practice, rather than simply inherit a caseload? We are working with a highly regarded, growing regional law firm seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its well-established team. While the core requirement is in Bury St Edmunds, the firm is also open to someone being based in Norwich for the right profile. This is a particularly exciting opportunity for a senior lawyer who enjoys relationship-building, networking and developing work, while still delivering exceptional private client advice to individuals, families and business owners.
The firm has an excellent reputation across East Anglia, with longstanding client relationships, strong referral networks and a collaborative culture that genuinely values its people. They are now looking for a senior Private Client Lawyer to help continue the growth of the team and strengthen its presence in the local market. The role will involve a broad range of high-quality private client work, including:
- Wills and estate planning
- Probate and estate administration
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Trusts and tax planning
- Elderly client matters
- Succession and wealth preservation advice
The successful person will have plenty of autonomy, strong support around them, and the opportunity to become a key figure within the wider private client offering.
The primary need is in Bury St Edmunds, where there is already a strong existing client base and workflow. However, the firm would also consider someone based in Norwich, particularly if they are a more senior individual able to help grow that offering through:
- Business development activity
- Existing professional connections and referrer relationships
- A proven ability to generate or attract work
- Strong networking presence within the local market
Importantly, there is no requirement for a large following or portable caseload, but the Norwich option would best suit someone commercially minded who enjoys building relationships and developing opportunities.
The firm is ideally looking for someone at a more senior level, likely:
- Senior Associate
- Legal Director
- Partner level, or someone ready for that next step
However, they would also be very interested in speaking with anyone from 3+ PQE who has gained solid private client experience within a reputable firm and is looking to continue developing their career within a supportive and ambitious environment. You will ideally bring:
- Strong technical private client experience
- Confidence managing matters independently
- Excellent client care and relationship-building skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- Commercial awareness and an interest in helping grow a team and client base
For candidates interested in the Norwich option, an enthusiasm for networking, business development and building local relationships would be particularly valuable.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- High-quality private client work with longstanding clients
- Friendly, modern and collaborative culture
- Genuine flexibility and hybrid working
- Strong support infrastructure and established reputation
- Opportunity to play a visible role in the continued growth of the practice
- Particularly attractive for someone wanting more autonomy and influence within a regional firm environment
Benefits include competitive salary, discretionary bonus, generous annual leave, pension, private medical cover for senior hires, life assurance, income protection and flexible working arrangements.
