The department is known for its expertise, empathy and practical approach, advising on the full spectrum of family matters including financial settlements, children issues, protective orders and Family Law Act work. The Role
You will play a key part in the growth of the Norwich team, handling a broad range of family law work and taking an active role in client development and networking. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting initial consultations and delivering clear, practical legal advice
- Managing your own caseload from instruction to conclusion
- Drafting pleadings, agreements, statements and correspondence
- Advising on costs and preparing Letters of Engagement
- Attending court hearings independently and supporting senior colleagues
- Preparing detailed bundles for hearings and conferences
- Booking counsel and liaising with expert witnesses
- Managing disbursements, invoices and matter-level financial compliance
- Undertaking risk assessments and internal compliance checks on time
- Participating in business development, networking and profile-building activities
Experience & Expertise
You will ideally have experience across a broad range of family matters, including:
- Financial remedy cases
- Children matters
- Family Law Act proceedings
- Pre- and post‑nuptial agreements (desirable; training available)
