An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Land & Development Solicitor to join a highly regarded regional law firm at Senior Associate level within their A12 Commercial Hub in Marks Tey. This role will play an important part in the strategic growth of the firm’s Commercial Property offering, working closely with a well-established Legal 500 recognised Commercial Property team. You will handle high-value development transactions while working directly with landowners, developers and promoters on complex projects across the region.
The Role
You will manage a varied and high‑quality caseload involving a range of development‑led property transactions, providing strategic advice to clients at all stages of the development lifecycle. Typical matters include:
- Option agreements and conditional contracts
- Promotion agreements
- Strategic land transactions
- Buying and selling development sites
- Joint venture arrangements between landowners and developers
- Overage and deferred consideration arrangements
- Structuring sites ready for development or sale
The team regularly advises on significant projects, including:
- Joint ventures between landowners and developers for residential schemes
- Development site acquisitions for large residential projects
- Promotion agreements and strategic land arrangements
- Multi‑landowner consortium developments for large scale projects and new towns
These transactions can range from multi‑million pound development sites to strategic land projects exceeding £150 million in value.
About You
The firm is keen to hear from candidates who:
- Are a qualified Solicitor with 7+ years’ PQE
- Have strong experience in development‑led commercial property transactions
- Have acted for landowners, developers or promoters on development matters
- Are confident managing complex transactions independently
- Possess excellent client care and communication skills
- Enjoy building relationships with developers, landowners and professional contacts
- Have a proactive and commercially minded approach
An interest in networking and business development will also be beneficial, as this role will contribute to the continued growth of the team.
