They’re looking for a compassionate and organised Probate Officer/ Executive who wants to make a real impact without being tied to time‑recording or billing targets. This is not a traditional private practice role – it’s an in‑house position where your focus is on providing excellent service, not hitting chargeable hour thresholds.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing your own caseload of probate and intestacy matters from instruction to completion
- Applying for Grants of Representation and overseeing the full estate administration process
- Valuing estates, handling liabilities, collecting assets, and distributing accordingly
- Preparing IHT forms and final accounts
- Communicating with beneficiaries, clients, solicitors, genealogists and institutions
- Working closely with a team of experienced colleagues and senior management
- Helping improve processes and contribute to the wider growth of the department
What We’re Looking For
- Have experience of managing your own probate caseload (qualification/ level/ title not important)
- Understand intestacy rules and complex family structures
- Are confident with estate administration, tax paperwork and legal compliance
- Communicate clearly and compassionately
- Are naturally productive in a non‑target driven environment
- Have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Want to work in a role focused on quality, not quantity
- Enjoy working as part of a friendly and collaborative team
