Junior Clinical Negligence Solicitor | 0-4 PQE | Chelmsford in Colchester

Colchester Full-Time On-site
Clara Rose Consultancy Ltd

Build your expertise in a specialist area of law where your work can make a real difference to people’s lives.

If you are a qualified Solicitor with up to 4 years’ PQE and an interest in medical negligence, this is an opportunity to develop your career within a firm dedicated exclusively to clinical negligence work.

We are working with a highly regarded specialist practice in Chelmsford that has spent more than 30 years representing people affected by medical negligence. With a wealth of experience, a strong reputation and a clear commitment to helping clients secure justice, the firm offers an excellent environment in which to develop specialist expertise.

You do not need to have built up years of clinical negligence experience already. What matters is your enthusiasm for the work, your commitment to clients and your willingness to learn from experienced specialists.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • Develop a genuine specialism: Focus your career on clinical negligence rather than working across a broad range of legal disciplines.

  • Learn from experienced specialists: Work alongside lawyers with extensive knowledge of complex medical negligence claims.

  • Make a meaningful difference: Help people and families seeking answers, accountability and financial security following medical negligence.

  • Invest in your development: Receive specialist training and support to build your technical knowledge and confidence.

  • Join an established specialist firm: Be part of a practice with decades of experience and a strong reputation in its field.

The role

You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence claims, covering a range of case types and developing your expertise as you progress. You will have the opportunity to take ownership of your matters, with support, guidance and specialist training provided as needed.

Depending on your existing experience, your work will involve investigating claims, assessing medical evidence, considering liability and causation, and progressing cases towards an appropriate resolution.

You will work alongside experienced clinical negligence specialists who can share their knowledge and help you build your technical skills and confidence, while giving you the responsibility to develop as an independent practitioner.

The work calls for careful analysis, sound judgement and excellent communication. Just as importantly, clients need someone who listens, explains things clearly and understands the impact their circumstances may have on their lives.

About you

We are interested in hearing from Solicitors with 0-4 years’ PQE who are keen to develop a career in clinical negligence.

You might already have some experience in clinical negligence or personal injury, or you may be a junior lawyer looking to move into this specialist area.

You will ideally bring:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales, with up to 4 years’ PQE.

  • A genuine interest in medical negligence and the medical issues that arise in these cases.

  • Strong research, analytical and written communication skills.

  • Excellent client care skills and an empathetic, professional approach.

  • A proactive attitude, curiosity and a willingness to learn.

  • The ability to work carefully and methodically while managing competing priorities.

Previous clinical negligence experience would be helpful, but a genuine commitment to developing your expertise is equally important.

The practical details

  • Location: Chelmsford, Essex

  • Experience: 0-4 years’ PQE

  • Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
