- Work with a multidisciplinary team of 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 3 Pharmacists, 1 Pharmacy Technician, 1 Social Prescriber and large nursing and administrative teams.
- Well managed practice. CQC rating good in all areas.

- 6 weeks annual leave plus 10 statutory days and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job
- Provide high quality care to our patients
- Conduct face-to-face, telephone and online consultations
- Form part of our total triage team on a pro‑rate basis with the other GPs
- Undertake home visits
- Manage acute and chronic conditions in line with national and local guidelines
- Issue prescriptions appropriately in accordance with practice and NHS policy
- Review test results, hospital letters and correspondence promptly
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical record keeping using EMIS WEB
- Support the training and development of GP registrars, F2s and Allied Health Professionals through clinical supervision

JOB TITLE: SALARIED GENERAL PRACTITIONER

Job Description: The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical responsibilities
- Make yourself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
- Provide counselling and health education.
- Admit or discharge patients to and from the caseload and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Compile and issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand‑written prescriptions whenever possible).
- Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever clinically appropriate.
- Undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Other responsibilities within the organisation
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
- A commitment to life‑long learning and audit to ensure evidence‑based best practice.
- Contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
- Contribute to the development of computer‑based patient records.
- Contribute to the summarising of patient records and read‑coding patient data.
- Attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

- Handle confidential information relating to patients, carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers appropriately.
- Ensure confidential information is disclosed only to authorised persons per practice policies and procedures.

- Implement and lead on promotion and management of own and others health & safety and infection control as defined in practice policies.
- Use personal security systems within the workplace according to guidelines.
- Maintain infection control practices, cleanliness and regulatory/contractual/professional requirements.
- Provide advice on specimen process, collection, labeling, handling, correct containers, storage and transport arrangements.
- Use correct PPE and ensure others do so; advise on appropriate circumstances.
- Manage infection control procedures in routine and extraordinary circumstances, including pandemic situations.
- Maintain hand hygiene standards for self and others.
- Manage incidents of accidental exposure.
- Implement infection control protocols across the practice.
- Observe current working practices and identify training needs, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Manage risks involved in work activities in a way that protects patients and staff.
- Use training to update knowledge and skills and manage staff training across infection control and patient processes.
- Monitor practice facilities and equipment for infection control, ensuring adequate hand cleansing facilities.
- Safely manage sharps use, storage and disposal.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Initiate remedial or corrective action where needed.
- Always work in a tidy, clean, sterile, and safe way, reporting hazards promptly.
- Maintain general cleanliness across the business in consultation with responsible managers.
- Participate in periodic infection control training (minimum twice annually).
- Handle waste and instrument management correctly.
- Maintain sterile environments.

Qualifications
- GMC Registered, not subject to suspension.
- Currently on a CCG performers list.
- Clear enhanced DBS check.
- Evidence of CPD.
- MRCGP.
- DRCOG.
- DFSRFH and competence in coil insertion.
- Work as a GPWSI.
- Minor surgery skills.
Experience
- Experience of working in UK General Practice.
- Experience of working with vulnerable groups.
- Teaching of registrars or F2 or medical students.
- Delivery of clinical audit.
- QOF management.
- Experience using EMIS Web and Docman.
