About the Role:
We’re looking for a confident, motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join the leadership team at The Clapham North – one of South London’s most vibrant late‑night venues. This is a liquor‑led, high‑energy pub that thrives on atmosphere, personality and consistently brilliant service. As Assistant Manager, you’ll lead from the front—driving standards, supporting the team, and playing a key role in delivering our packed weekly events calendar. You’ll have a genuine passion for hospitality, a proactive approach to team development, and the organisational skills to keep a fast‑paced venue running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of team development from recruitment all the way up to internal promotions
- Full autonomy over rota scheduling
- Ensuring all front‑of‑house areas are H&S compliant
- Collaborating with the GM to implement sales‑driving ideas
- Organising regular leadership and team meetings to ensure the RAM standards are being met
- Liquor and consumables stock ordering
- Supporting the GM with shift leadership, stock control and operational standards
About The Clapham North:
The Clapham North is a fast‑paced, late‑night venue with serious character. During the week, we host everything from Neon Naked Life Drawing and Comedy Nights to Open Mic sessions and our famously outrageous quiz. At weekends, we turn it up – live music, DJs until 3 a.m., and old‑school bangers filling the dancefloor. With multiple large screens and three Sky boxes, we show a wide range of sport—but we’re not a sports pub. We’re a pub with personality that happens to show sport.
About You:
You’ll bring big energy and strong leadership. You’re organised, commercially aware, and thrive in a busy environment. You know how to motivate a team, manage detail without losing pace, and create an atmosphere that makes guests feel they’re in the best pub in Clapham. Most importantly, you’re serious about building a long‑term career in hospitality—and ready to step up. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
