As Senior Carer, you will be maintaining effective record-keeping, administering medication, leading and supporting the team of dedicated staff in providing person-centred care and support services to our residents. You’ll drive performance through supervision and mentoring of staff, delivering induction and coaching and you will be a strong role model, with residents’ needs, dignity and respect at the heart of the role.
Responsibilities
- To motivate all staff within the homes and lead by example.
- To provide effective management of the home, ensuring at all times the highest achievable standards of care are delivered to residents.
- Ensure the wellbeing and safety of all residents within the home, whilst on shift, ensuring that care is delivered as per the care plan.
- Comply with regulations and policies involving the ordering, storing, administration and disposal of medications.
- Maintain effective administration of information, to include effective reporting and record keeping.
- Embrace all opportunities for learning and development to help you fulfil your role to the best of your ability.
Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care and a minimum of two years’ experience working in a care/support environment OR five years’ experience, without an NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care.
- Be registered, or be prepared to register, with the NI Social Care Council at the time of taking up an offer of employment.
- Have sound computer/IT skills including knowledge of email and word processing.
