We are innovative!
That’s why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to solve problems and get things done.

We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to play a key role within our Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, supporting our Anglian Water Metering and Water Recycling contracts alongside Affinity Water.

This is a hands-on, site-based opportunity where you’ll work closely with operational teams who value practical support and strong safety leadership. You’ll have the autonomy to make a visible difference across major water sector contracts, providing practical advice, promoting safe working practices and helping to drive continuous improvement.

You’ll also have the opportunity to broaden your experience, influence how work is delivered and continue developing your career within a varied operational environment. This is a wide-ranging regional role, with most activity centred on Huntingdon and Harlow.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Carrying out site inspections, audits and behavioural safety observations.
  • Providing practical Health, Safety and Wellbeing advice to colleagues at all levels.
  • Working with operational teams to deliver safety objectives and embed best practice.
  • Supporting accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
  • Providing Health & Safety input into tenders, bids and operational planning.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and performance.
  • Encouraging proactive hazard reporting and positive safety behaviours.
  • Helping teams maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and company procedures.

We would love to hear from you if…

You have at least two to three years’ experience in a Health & Safety advisory role, ideally within utilities, infrastructure or civil engineering. You’ll bring a sound working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and how it applies within a construction, utilities, water or civil engineering environment.

Practical and solutions-focused, you’ll be confident influencing and supporting colleagues at all levels. You’ll also understand environmental impacts and the importance of health and wellbeing in creating a positive safety culture.

You’ll hold a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate, or an equivalent qualification, together with Tech IOSH membership and a commitment to continued professional development.

As the role involves travel across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire, with occasional travel further afield, you’ll need a full UK driving licence. You’ll also need some flexibility in your working hours to support operational requirements when needed.
