We’re innovative
That’s why we need people like you to help us. People who enjoy finding new ways to solve problems and get things done.
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing delivery team, working on our Southern Water contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Manager with experience delivering MEICA and civil engineering projects within the utilities sector, who is looking to take a leading role across a varied portfolio of water and wastewater projects.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you’ll oversee projects from award through to design, construction, commissioning and handover. You’ll also provide technical leadership on MEICA matters within a multi-disciplinary delivery team, working closely with design, commercial and construction colleagues.
Our projects vary from MEICA installations and traditional civils through to trenchless solutions, gravity and pumped pipelines, giving you the opportunity to work across a broad range of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Here are some of the activities you’ll be involved in...
- Managing multiple projects from award through to successful completion and handover.
- Taking responsibility for programme, commercial performance, Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
- Providing technical leadership and support on MEICA elements within a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Coordinating design requirements and developing practical project solutions in conjunction with designers and technical specialists.
- Working closely with site teams, suppliers, specialist subcontractors and in-house functions to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
- Developing project programmes with the Project Planner and monitoring progress against agreed milestones.
- Managing project risks, identifying potential issues and putting appropriate actions in place.
- Ensuring compliance with HSEQ legislation, CDM requirements and company procedures.
- Working closely with Southern Water representatives to ensure project KPIs are met or exceeded.
- Following contract processes and procedures, typically within an NEC4 environment.
- Supporting the preparation of tender quotations, project prices and compensation event estimates.
- Attending internal and client progress meetings, site visits and project reviews.
- Ensuring contract and project documentation is completed accurately and in line with client requirements and agreed timescales.
- Supporting the development of an efficient, integrated design and delivery process across our MEICA projects.
We’d love to hear from you if...
You have proven experience managing MEICA and/or civil engineering projects within the utilities sector, ideally with experience across water or wastewater infrastructure.
You’ll have a strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and be confident working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, coordinating design, construction and commissioning activities.
You’ll be an organised and commercially aware Project Manager, comfortable managing multiple projects and balancing programme, cost, quality and delivery requirements. Experience working within an NEC4 contract environment would be advantageous.
You’ll also have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
An ONC, HNC, BEng or NVQ equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline is desirable, together with a CSCS card. IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) would also be advantageous.
