We’re looking for an experienced Supervisor to join our team, supporting the delivery of our South West Water contract across Cornwall.
This is a people-focused role where you’ll lead operational teams, oversee day-to-day works and help ensure activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
You’ll be out across different sites, including the Newquay and Truro areas, working closely with operational teams, customers and stakeholders.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...
- Leading and supporting operational teams, promoting a strong Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental culture.
- Supervising construction works and ensuring activities are delivered safely and in line with programme requirements.
- Planning upcoming works and coordinating resources to support efficient delivery.
- Providing guidance, support and coaching to colleagues to ensure they remain competent and compliant.
- Reviewing risk assessments, method statements and other relevant site documentation.
- Carrying out site inspections and safety checks, identifying hazards and taking appropriate action.
- Monitoring the quality of works and promoting a right-first-time approach.
- Supporting the management of customer and stakeholder expectations, helping to minimise disruption and resolve issues effectively.
- Ensuring vehicles, plant and equipment are used safely and in accordance with company requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to improve ways of working, operational performance and customer experience.
- Working across multiple sites in Cornwall and supporting the effective use of the local yard.
We’d love to hear from you if...
You have previous experience supervising construction or operational works, ideally within the water or utilities sector, and are confident leading teams in a busy delivery environment.
You’ll have a strong understanding of Health & Safety and be comfortable taking responsibility for ensuring safe working practices are followed.
Experience working within a regulated water environment would be highly advantageous.
You’ll be a confident communicator with good customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, clients and members of the public.
You’ll be comfortable making decisions, resolving issues and managing competing priorities across different sites.
An IOSH qualification would be advantageous, together with NRSWA, SSSTS/SMSTS or CDM training.
A full and valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
