We have an opportunity for an experienced Overhead Linesperson to join our team, supporting the delivery, maintenance and repair of electricity infrastructure across the UK Power Networks (EPN) area.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll play a key part in constructing, maintaining and repairing overhead electricity networks, working on LV and up to 11k V infrastructure to ensure the safe and reliable supply of electricity to customers.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in...

  • Constructing, maintaining and repairing overhead electricity networks up to 11k V.
  • Installing and replacing poles, conductors, insulators and associated overhead line equipment.
  • Carrying out planned maintenance, fault response and emergency restoration works.
  • Supporting network reinforcement, diversion and asset replacement projects.
  • Working safely at height using approved climbing and access techniques.
  • Carrying out testing procedures and dynamic risk assessments on HV and LV overhead lines to ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with industry standards.
  • Undertaking inspections and identifying defects across the network.
  • Completing site documentation and maintaining accurate work records.
  • Liaising professionally with customers, landowners and stakeholders whilst undertaking works.
  • Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures, DNO standards and health and safety legislation.
  • Leading and supporting a two-person team on site, coaching and mentoring apprentices and less experienced colleagues to maintain high standards of safety and workmanship.

We would love to hear from you if...

You have proven experience working on overhead electricity networks up to 11k V, with a strong understanding of overhead line construction, maintenance and fault-finding activities.

Experience working within a DNO environment, particularly across the UK Power Networks (EPN) network, would be highly advantageous.

Holding current UK Power Networks Competency Authorisations (or the ability to obtain them) would be a significant benefit.

You'll be experienced in carrying out testing procedures and dynamic risk assessments on HV and LV overhead lines and hold an industry-approved Live Working Accompaniment accreditation.

You'll have a strong commitment to health and safety, be confident working at height and enjoy working as part of a team in a safety-critical environment.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

Industry qualifications such as Pole Top Rescue, First Aid, MEWP, HGV and relevant NPTC/Electricity Distribution authorisations would also be advantageous.
