A well-managed stores function is essential to the success of our operations. By ensuring materials are safely stored, accurately recorded and readily available, you’ll play a key role in supporting our technical teams to deliver works safely and efficiently for our client and their customers.
Working within our stores facility, you’ll manage a range of materials including water industry pipes, fittings and equipment, ensuring stock is controlled, accessible and available when required. Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:
- Receiving deliveries into the stores facility, checking quantities, condition and associated paperwork.
- Ensuring goods are accurately recorded and stock levels are maintained through our computer systems.
- Safely storing materials and maintaining an organised stores environment.
- Preparing materials for collection and issuing items to operational teams as required.
- Carrying out regular stock checks and supporting quarterly and full stocktaking activities.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and transport providers to ensure smooth delivery of materials.
- Loading and unloading vehicles using forklift equipment once appropriate training has been completed.
- Delivering materials and supplies to operational teams when required.
We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
- Previous experience working within a stores, warehouse or logistics environment would be advantageous, along with strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Experience within the water industry or familiarity with water fittings would be beneficial, but full training and support will be provided.
- You’ll be comfortable using IT systems, able to communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers and customers, and have a proactive approach to problem solving.
- A customer-focused attitude and a commitment to getting things right first time are important to succeeding in this role.
- A full clean UK manual driving licence and a valid Telehandler licence are essential for this position.
