School Minibus Driver
Location: Maidenhead, SL6
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Term time, approximately 36 weeks
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am to 4:30pm
Licence Required: Category D1 entitlement or appropriate PCV licence
Experience Required: Proven safe and confident driving experience
What You’ll Be Doing
- Driving school minibuses safely along allocated routes
- Transporting pupils to and from school and school activities
- Familiarising yourself with routes, traffic patterns and any local diversions
- Completing passenger registers and daily transport records
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Checking fuel, oil, water, screen wash and tyres
- Keeping minibuses clean, tidy and presentable
- Reporting vehicle faults promptly
- Ensuring seat belts are worn and safety procedures are followed
- Maintaining a calm and orderly environment on board
- Reporting any significant pupil behaviour or safety concernsWorking closely with the Estates Team and wider school staff
The role requires a professional, proactive and safety conscious approach at all times.
About You
- A valid, clean UK driving licence with Category D1 entitlement, or anappropriate PCV licence
- Proven safe and confident driving experience
- Good knowledge of the UK Highway Code
- The ability to carry out basic vehicle checks
- Excellent punctuality and reliability
- A polite, patient and helpful manner
- Confidence interacting with pupils of different ages
- A flexible, team focused approach
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare
- Experience driving larger or passenger carrying vehicles would be particularly relevant, and good knowledge of local roads would be useful.
