We are currently recruiting for a Senior Reinsurance Claims Analyst on behalf of our client, a very highly regarded and well respected Lloyd's Syndicate.
Reporting to the Head of Reinsurance Claims, the role will focus on the handling and oversight of large Reinsurance claims and CAT events. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful and growing insurer.
Key Responsibilities- Handling and reviewing large and complex technical Reinsurance claims, with oversight for accurate and timely case reserves and payments.
- Managing internal claim ultimate estimates for certain large CAT events, collaborating with the Head of Reinsurance Claims, and providing recommendations to Actuaries and the senior management team.
- Holding a high level of authority for Reinsurance claims and overseeing areas where delegation of reserving, payment and settlement authority has been given to more junior internal staff.
- Contributing and participating in internal and external meetings, including deputising in the absence of the Head of Reinsurance Claims.
- Working closely with the Claims Operations team on managing forward thinking claims MI data.
- Creating and nurturing collaborative relationships with the Reinsurance Underwriting team.
- Extensive technical claims expertise and demonstrable working knowledge of the most significant and complex Reinsurance Treaty Excess of Loss claims, ideally gained from working for a Lead Reinsurer.
- Experience of handling US Property Catastrophe business is essential.
- Strong experience of managing internal claims ultimate estimates on catastrophe events and large losses, working on this process with Underwriters and Actuaries.
- Good experience of handling all aspects of pro-rata treaties.
- Leadership experience. Comfortable leading from the front and leading by example with the internal claims team, in the market and externally with brokers and clients.
