We are recruiting for a Senior Claims Adjuster - Engineering & Construction on behalf of a highly regarded London Market Insurer.

The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of claims, handling both lead and follow cases to a high technical standard from initial notification through to settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling First-Party and Third-Party Liability claims originating from CAR / EAR policies from FNOL to settlement and recovery.
  • Undertaking an initial evaluation of cause of loss to determine whether a claim is covered and what further information may be required.
  • Deciding the Company’s response to claims, based on correct interpretation of policy and underwriting documentation.
  • Assisting in the process of setting accurate, realistic and timely claim reserves.
  • Maintaining accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes, preparing reports as necessary.
  • Ensuring accurate entry of claims data into Company systems and assisting in the preparation of MI.
  • Participating in projects or initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the department.

Key Requirements

  • Proven Third-Party Liability CAR / EAR claims handling experience.
  • Experience of London Company market in CAR / EAR and Engineering matters.
  • Experience of JCT / LEG / DE.
  • Experience of market meetings in a lead or follow capacity.
  • Good general knowledge and understanding of insurance principles.
  • General awareness of current regulation, case law, and market issues.
  • Good working knowledge of claims portal.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
