Senior Claims Adjuster – Construction
London
Negotiable Salary + Excellent Benefits
We are seeking a Senior Construction Claims Adjuster on behalf of a highly regarded Company Market Insurer.
The successful candidate will adjust a highly technical level portfolio of claims, from first advice through to settlement. The role will suit candidates from an Insurer, Loss Adjusting or Private Practice background.
Key Responsibilities
- Handing First and Third Party Liability claims originating from CAR / EAR policies from FNOL to settlement and recovery.
- Undertaking an initial evaluation of cause of loss to determine whether a claim is covered.
- Assisting in the process for setting accurate, realistic and timely claims reserves.
- Liaising with Clients, Loss Adjusters, Solicitors, Experts, Brokers, MGAs and TPAs as appropriate.
- Liaising with Underwriters & Risk Managers, Finance, Management, Head Office, as well as network (Servicing and / or Producing offices).
- Maintaining accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes, preparing reports as necessary.
- Ensuring accurate entry of claims data to enable precise reporting on the nature and financial impact of the claims portfolio and to assist in the preparation of MI.
Key Requirements
- 5-10 years experience in handling First / Third Party Liability Construction / Engineering claims.
- Experience of JCT / LEG / DE.
- Experience of market meetings in a lead or follow capacity.
- General awareness of current regulation, case law, and market issues.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and report writing skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and to be self-motivated.
