We are working with one of the UK's fastest-growing technology consultancies, ranked in the Financial Times FT1000 Europe's Fastest-Growing Companies list in both 2025 and 2026, as they look for a Product Technical Lead to join their business.
The successful candidate will take ownership of their established AI enabled software product, guiding it through its next phase of evolution across roadmap, scalability, and user experience, while also playing a key role in shaping and building new product ideas from the ground up. This is a hands-on leadership role blending strategic technical direction with active development, working closely with product and business teams to make architectural decisions and deliver high-quality, production-ready software that meets real-world needs.
Key Responsibilities- Leading the technical design, architecture, and implementation of a complex, user-facing software product, taking features from definition through to release.
- Working closely with the Product Manager to translate product goals into technical plans, milestones, and deliverables, guiding the team through Agile delivery cycles including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Making key architectural decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability, while continuously improving development processes and infrastructure.
- Establishing and upholding engineering best practices across code quality, testing, documentation, and security, including conducting code reviews and mentoring developers.
- Collaborating with UX/UI designers to ensure technical feasibility and an excellent user experience.
- Degree educated, with a strong background in software engineering and proven experience delivering end-to-end software products.
- Proven ability to lead or mentor development teams within an Agile environment.
- Advanced Python development skills, ideally with FastAPI or similar frameworks, and a strong understanding of relational databases, schema design, and SQL.
- Experience designing scalable systems and working with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with front-end development (TypeScript, React) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, with a product-oriented mindset and a genuine care for usability and user outcomes.
- Experience in cybersecurity, data-driven applications, or SaaS platforms is advantageous.
