We are recruiting for a Senior Claims Adjuster - Marine & Energy on behalf of on behalf of a leading global specialty insurer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of complex, large loss and strategically important Marine claims across Lloyd's and Company Market platforms.
Key Requirements
- Handling a broad portfolio of Marine Cargo, Project Cargo, Specie, Marine & Energy Liability and Ports & Terminals claims, both on a lead and follow basis.
- Reviewing coverage positions and establishing appropriate reserving strategies throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
- Providing technical support and referral guidance in respect of associated War & Terrorism products and Specialty Reinsurance claims as required.
- Developing claims strategies and negotiating settlements in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
- Leading the management of lawyers, surveyors, loss adjusters and other specialist service providers.
- Supporting and collaborating closely with Marine Underwriters through regular portfolio reviews, claims analysis and wordings discussions.
- Supporting the Head of Marine, Energy & Specialty Claims in delivering claims strategy and infrastructure development.
- Mentoring and coaching junior members of the claims team.
- Identifying claims trends, emerging risks and portfolio insights to support underwriting strategy;
Key Requirements
- Significant Marine claims experience within the Lloyd's and/or London Market.
- Strong technical expertise handling Marine Cargo, Project Cargo, Specie, Marine & Energy Liability and Ports & Terminals claims.
- Experience handling large loss, complex and multi-jurisdictional claims.
- Understanding of both direct and reinsurance claims environments.
- Strong track record managing lawyers, surveyors, adjusters and other service providers.
- Detailed knowledge of Lloyd's claims processes and Lead Claims Arrangements.
- Strong understanding of London Market systems and claims processes.
- Experience in claims strategy development and portfolio management.
- Strong academic background, including completion or significant progress toward ACII qualification is desired.
