We are recruiting for a Claims Handler – Motor & Third PartyProperty Damage (TPPD) on behalf of a leading specialist brand in the UKInsurance Market.
The successful candidate willbe responsible for delivering a highstandard of claims service across a varied portfolio of Third Party PropertyDamage and Motor claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Takingreferrals on motor policy coverage andstrategy.
- Managinga portfolio of third party property damage claims under public liabilitypolicies with a value up to £100k.
- Demonstratingcustomer focus throughout the claims lifecycle, with evidence of strongstakeholder engagement.
- Managingclaims from first notification to conclusion and for third party claimsfrom pre-litigation through to final hearing or settlement.
- Reviewingand confirming policy coverage position.
- Settingthe claim strategy, handling in-house where possible and implementingclaim prevention strategies.
- Selecting,instructing and managing law firms and other experts where necessaryincluding proactive indemnity and costs management.
- Liaisingand negotiating with clients, brokers, claimants and theirrepresentatives, including attending mediations, JSMs and court hearing.
- Identifyingfraudulent claims and opportunities for recovery from third parties withclear evidence of strategic claims handling.
- Developingand managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Takingreferrals from delegated authority partners on coverage, strategy andreallocation to the internal claims team.
- Obtainingor a willingness to obtain professional qualifications; CII, CILex orequivalent.
Key Requirements
- Experiencein handling Motor Claims, with a particular emphasis on policy coverageexperience, as an insurance claims handler or within a TPA / D elegated Authority or law firm.
- Specialinvestigation/ fraud experience in motor claims is advantageous.
- Previousexperience in handling third party property damage claims under PLpolicies is advantageous.
- Experiencemanaging claims end-to-end, including instruction of solicitors andoversight of claim strategy.
- Soundunderstanding of pre-action protocols and civil litigation.
- Demonstrableexperience applying policy wording and assessing coverage/liability.
- Backgroundin insurance claims handling or a legal environment.
- Strongorganisational skills with the ability to manage multiple claims andprioritise effectively under pressure.
- Experienceworking with multiple stakeholders.
