Our client, an established and highly regarded Lloyd's syndicate, is currently looking for a Junior Claims Adjuster. Initially, the role will sit within the company's Property team, but you will also have the opportunity to gain exposure to other classes of business. Specific experience in Property Claims is not a pre-requisite for the role. This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Claims Handler to continue to develop their claims adjusting experience within a leading Lloyd’s Syndicate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Claims Manager, responsible for a class of business to manage the claims and to organise resources and workload.
  • Negotiation and liaison with clients, brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers, including overseas travel where necessary, and attendance at market meetings.
  • Work on accurate and timely case reserving as an important feed into the reserving process.
  • Provide Underwriters with feedback on claims issues, cause codes, wordings and related risk information to improve the overall quality of underwriting.
  • Liaise with external Claims Administrators, including the carrying out of claims and procedural audits.
  • Review and consider the interpretation of policy wordings with Underwriters.
  • Assist Underwriters with product and business development in line with the divisional business plan.

Key Requirements

  • Prospective candidates will need to be either a recent University Graduate (must be a 2:1 or above), or have an A Level education (As and Bs).
  • Ideally, you will have 1-3 years claims experience gained within any class of business.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
