We are recruiting for a Head of Third-Party Damage Claims on behalf of one of the largest specialist motor insurers in the market. The Head of Third-Party Claims will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing the end-to-end third-party claims journey. This includes strategic oversight of operational performance, technical excellence, and service delivery across all third-party claims functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving cost control throughout the claims lifecycle across all elements of third-party claims spend.
- Developing and implementing strategy based on detailed financial analysis.
- Overseeing the effective management of complex and high value claims and processes with technical, regulatory or financial implications.
- Initiating indemnity control and operational effectiveness initiatives with sound business cases.
- Analysing and drafting reports, as well as responding to financial performance metrics.
- Using granular knowledge of vehicle portfolio, underwriting and distribution strategies to anticipate trends.
- Overseeing key supply chain relationships in the fulfilment of the claims proposition and ensuring that all external providers meet performance requirements.
Key Requirements
- Extensive experience in motor claims management, with a thorough understanding of claims processes and current market trends.
- Proven ability to deliver key objectives and drive measurable performance improvements within challenging timeframes.
- In-depth technical expertise in motor liability, credit hire, personal injury, and relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience of working with actuarial development triangles.
- High level of numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify underlying patterns and trends.
- Skilled in producing professional, well-structured, and accurate reports.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACII or equivalent) is desirable.
