We are looking for a Claims Handler to join our Accident, Health and Travel team, to proactively manage and settle a portfolio of insurance claims as efficiently and economically as possible, whilst providing a market leading standard of service to customers and other stakeholders.

Location: Either Newcastle-under-Lyme or Chipping Norton offices.

Salary: £24,000pa - £25,000 DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs per week - between 9AM - 5.30PM, 7.5 hours per day

What you will be doing:

  • To act as the first point of contact with policy holders wishing to make a claim under their designated insurance cover.
  • Create a claims file; accurately logging comprehensive details of the claim.
  • Effectively handle all claims from registration to completion.
  • Use a variety of communication approaches to build rapport and a positive relationship to help manage the customer predicament and deliver the right outcome.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to develop internal systems and processes and, where appropriate, reduce costs whilst ensuring we deliver a quality, customer focused service to our policy holders.
  • To negotiate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure a fair settlement is achieved for the customer and the company.

What we need from you:

  • Previous customer services experience.
  • Experience in claims handling.
  • A good understanding of the FCA.
  • Proactive in your approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
