Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 5pm (with emergency on-call availability).
Salary: £24,000 per annum + 1 Bed accommodation and utilities.
Position Summary:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the development.
- Providing a welcoming, professional, and supportive service to residents.
- Assisting with any queries or concerns.
- Carrying out routine checks of alarm call systems, fire alarm systems, door entry systems, emergency lift telephones, and resident pendant systems to ensure safety and full operational status.
- Reporting, monitoring, and escalating maintenance issues as required.
- Contacting the appropriate emergency services or authorities when necessary.
- Supervising contractors on site and ensuring works are completed to an acceptable standard with minimal disruption to residents.
- Monitoring resident wellbeing and identifying concerns regarding vulnerable residents.
- Liaising with relatives or relevant parties where appropriate.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the development, including communal areas and refuse collection points.
- Ensuring all health and safety procedures are adhered to and that the environment remains safe and pleasant for residents and visitors.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar caretaker or warden role.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good fire and health & safety knowledge.
- A genuine commitment to supporting residents within a retirement housing environment.
- DBS Check required; fire warden certificates desirable.
