Our client, a global tier-1 IT services and consulting firm, is building a new omnichannel consulting practice within its retail strategy group and is hiring founding team members in London. This is a ground-floor opportunity: you will help shape the practice's direction, IP and client base while working with some of the best-known retailers in the UK, Europe and beyond.

This is a genuinely multi-dimensional consulting position. One week you may be shaping a retailer's channel and operating model strategy, the next diagnosing where value leaks across a fulfilment network, or scoping how agentic AI reshapes customer experience. You will work in small, senior-led teams that span strategy through to execution, backed by the global technology, engineering and AI scale of a tier-1 firm.

What you will do:

  • Lead and contribute to client engagements across the omnichannel agenda: strategy, operating model, connected commerce, AI, supply chain and store
  • Structure and solve ambiguous, board-level problems using hypothesis-led, structured problem solving
  • Build trusted advisory relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Translate analysis into clear recommendations and executive-ready storytelling
  • Support business development: proposals, diagnostics, workshops and buyable propositions
  • Contribute to reusable IP, frameworks and accelerators that scale the practice
  • Publish points of view and represent the practice at industry forums
  • Coach junior colleagues as the team grows

What you bring:

  • Proven management or strategy consulting experience, ideally in or adjacent to retail or consumer
  • Strong structured problem solving and analytical skills, with comfort using Excel and BI tools to interpret data
  • Excellent communication and storytelling, confident at executive level
  • Solid understanding of the retail landscape: channel economics, customer, digital and AI pressures
  • Commercial acumen and an eye for the opportunity, the outcome and the P&L
  • A builder's mindset and flexibility to work across sub-sectors as demand dictates
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Depth in one or more of omnichannel operating model, connected commerce (OMS, POS, CDP), AI and personalisation, supply chain and fulfilment, or store reinvention. Experience of agentic commerce. A track record in business development or practice building. Published thought leadership or speaking experience.

Who this role is NOT for:

  • Delivery-only or implementation-focused consultants without strategy engagement ownership
  • Technology architects or programme managers whose work centres on systems integration rather than commercial strategy
  • In-house retail operators without a consulting track record
  • Candidates seeking a fully remote role or unwilling to travel to client sites
  • Candidates without the right to work in the UK
