The predicted salary is between 12000 - 18000 £ per year.

Please note as this post is part time term time, your salary will be pro rata to hours and weeks worked. If you start out with the normal school session, an adjustment will be made to reduce your first pay. This is because you are not entitled to be paid for all holidays. Once this adjustment has been completed, you will receive a 12th of your annual salary thereafter. You will receive an email from our payroll department before your first pay is due to advise of the amount that will be deducted. If you start on the first day of term, this will not apply to you.

Learning Assistants work collaboratively as a member of the school team or specialist educational service under the direction or supervision of the Head Teacher or designate, to promote effective learning, teaching, personal development, health and well being and an atmosphere of achievement. Learning Assistants provide support to teachers to facilitate effective and efficient use of resources in the promotion of teaching and learning and the raising of attainment in the classroom. Learning Assistants contribute to raising achievement and help in the general supervision, safety and care of pupils by supporting the learning process. They support pupils including those with additional support needs whose difficulties may arise from behaviour, learning, sensory or physical impairment or family circumstances. Learning Assistants work with pupils on a one to one basis or in groups in any appropriate setting. They require to work flexibly depending on the need of the school.

Clackmannanshire Council operates a flexible hybrid approach for those roles that allow this type of working. Attendance at the office will be required to meet the needs of the business and for example to build team and stakeholder relationships. The exact pattern of working will be agreed with you as part of the recruitment process.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and / or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council. Further guidance will follow in your conditional offer of employment on how to apply. Please note you will be required to pay for the cost of this application if your salary is over £38,000 per annum, which will be deducted from your first pay.
