The Youth Development Worker will be working within Clackmannanshire Council's Education Service - Community Learning and Development Team. The post holder will work closely with other members of the team to take forward developments which will contribute to the priorities and improvements identified by the Education Service; Clackmannanshire Council, Clackmannanshire Alliance and National strategies and priorities.
As part of the Education Community Learning and Development team, the post holder will develop learning opportunities for the most vulnerable members of the community which are empowering, educative and participative reflecting equal opportunities principles and practice. The role requires the post-holder to work collaboratively with services/partners who share responsibility for Community Learning and Development. In particular, the service will be working towards enhancing opportunities through programmes that develop active citizenship and youth participation.
There is a commitment to ensure that all learners are supported, monitored and tracked where necessary. It is the role of the Youth Development Worker to embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and to work with all agencies and partners involved to take forward the actions agreed in the best interests of the learners.
With fellow members of the team, support and promote all aspects of Community Learning and Development, community engagement and capacity building identified within the CLD strategy and associated action plans within Clackmannanshire Council and the wider Clackmannanshire Alliance.

Attendance at the office will be required to meet the needs of the business and for example to build team and stakeholder relationships. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. You will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Clackmannanshire Council. Further guidance will follow in your conditional offer of employment on how to apply. Please note you will be required to pay for the cost of this application if your salary is over £38,000 per annum, which will be deducted from your first pay.
