Clackmannanshire Council is currently in the process of developing and building a new Wellbeing Hub and Lochies school, located in Alloa. This will be a place where the community can come together, be active, connect with others and live well. Included in the facility will be three new swimming pools, which will lead to further employment opportunities for Swimming Teachers in the future.
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and self-motivated Swimming Teachers to assist in the delivery of our Clackmannanshire Learn to Swim Programmes which includes Learn to Swim, ASN Hydro lessons and School Swimming Lessons. You will be responsible for but not limited to planning and preparing Learn to Swim, Water Safety and Water Confidence sessions which meet the individual needs of participants, act as a positive role model at all times, and demonstrate Clackmannanshire Council's core values. Be enthusiastic and motivated during sessions and monitor and assess the development and progress of participants in your session and provide detailed feedback.
You will ideally possess a current Scottish Swimming Teacher Qualification (SSTQ) or a UKCC Level 2 Teaching Aquatics certificate, or equivalent. You will have excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, reliable and have experience of teaching children. You will also have experience of writing and following lesson plans and the ability to work with varying abilities of swimmers. You must have excellent customer care skills and an understanding of Child Protection. A First Aid Certificate and knowledge of Health and Safety are desirable.
