The post holder will have particular responsibility for supporting the Chief Finance Officer who is also the Section 95 Officer, in ensuring the effective and efficient administration of the Council's financial affairs.
As a member of the Finance and Revenues Service, the post holder will work collaboratively with other Team Leaders, Senior Managers, and the Strategic Director to support overall strategic and operational leadership, ensuring that the services provided are fit for purpose.
The post holder will provide leadership, vision, direction and effective management of the Accountancy functions, fostering and encouraging a culture of high quality customer service, corporate working, continuous improvement and innovation.
The post holder will be expected to identify and implement process improvements and service re-structuring to meet the current and future needs of the Council. This is a key role in the Council’s extended Management Team and the post holder will be expected to gain and maintain the credibility and trust of colleagues as well as being able to challenge appropriately.
