At CLAAS UK at Saxham we provide Sales, Service, Parts, IT, Marketing and Accounts support for our dealer network across the UK and Ireland. Your role in our team:

Working as part of the CUK Academy Team, the Technical Instructor (Mid-level) is responsible for independently delivering technical training sessions to internal and external stakeholders, focusing on Service Engineering on agricultural machinery. The role requires solid technical knowledge and teaching ability to ensure effective learning outcomes.

Main Duties:

  • Training Course Development
    • Plan and prepare training courses on agricultural machinery and associated technologies and/or related topics for both face to face and virtual training.
    • Develop and update training materials to reflect current products, processes and industry standards.
    • Support the continuous improvement of training programs based on feedback and industry trends.
    • Support on global academy projects and topics.
  • Training Course Delivery
    • Deliver training courses on agricultural machinery and associated technologies.
    • Assess delegates' progress and provide constructive feedback.
    • Deliver training courses in a safe and effective learning environment.
    • Maintain safety standards during training sessions.
    • Actively monitor the welfare and safeguarding of delegates.
    • Actively support and promote equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion to ensure no learner is discriminated against.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Engage with delegates to provide guidance and answer any technical questions.
    • Collaborate with product development and service teams to ensure training content accuracy.
    • Be professional when liaising with external stakeholders, building a rapport with delegates, customers and dealers.
  • Team Development
    • Have full working knowledge of agricultural machinery products and technical processes.
    • Be active, involved in and take part in any continuous professional development sessions.
    • Work towards and complete relevant teaching qualifications.

Your profile:

Experience

  • Experience of working with the agricultural engineering industry or similar engineering background.
  • Experience of training delivery is highly desirable but not essential.
  • An understanding or interest in the agricultural industry is desirable to keep up to date on industry challenges.
  • Specialism for one product group would be advantageous, ie: Tractors or Foragers.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Achieved a Level 3 in Land-Based Engineering or an equivalent Engineering qualification.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programmes such as Teams and PowerPoint.
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety and related procedures.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative as well as positively contributing to teamwork is essential.

Communication

  • Positive attitude and flexible mindset to adapt to daily requirements.
  • Be confident and approachable to support learners.
  • Strong communication skills are imperative to be able to work with cross-functional teams and external parties.

Organisation

  • Motivated to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
