Job Summary We are seeking a Junior Toolmaker to join the expanding manufacturing team. In this role, you will be work with the team in the designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds used in production processes. Duties * Help design and develop tooling components. * Tool strip downs and maintenance. * Repair of Injection and Compression Mould tools * Carry out general maintenance on the tools * Change overs of the jigs and fixtures * Help with tool breakdowns with the use of - Lathes, millers, grinders * Maintain and repair existing tools, ensuring optimal performance and longevity through precise adjustments and troubleshooting. * Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively * Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications for tooling projects. * Conduct inspections of tools using measurement instruments to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met. * Assist in the assembly of tooling components, ensuring proper fit, finish, and functionality for plastics injection molding or other manufacturing needs. Requirements * Proven experience as a Toolmaker or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. * Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and general CAD drafting skills. * Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on skills in grinding, milling, welding, fabrication, and assembly processes. * Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely while maintaining high precision standards. * Knowledge of tooling design principles and fabrication techniques tailored to manufacturing needs. * Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail to troubleshoot tooling issues effectively. * Ability to read technical drawings and interpret engineering specifications accurately.
