We are currently looking for an experienced Design Engineer to work with our clients’ Design and Specialist team. The role involves creating, adapting and managing existing products NPI and NPD plans in accordance with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and creating manufacturing process routes, methods, and technical instructions to manufacture new products.

The responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with other engineers and supply chain to define trial and production tooling, inspection processes using the latest metrology systems.
  • Developing automation and programs to produce and finish components.
  • Using a structured approach to solve problems, finding root cause and implementing and sustaining robust fixes.
  • Validating new products for use in production engines, Method Verification, attaining PPAP approval, demonstrating product quality and rate.

Ideally, candidates should have an engineering or other relevant discipline degree/HND/HNC and previous experience working in a manufacturing engineering role. Strong analytical skills and a proven record of technical problem-solving are essential, along with excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills. Good team working skills are also necessary.
