We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join the logistics team at a client of ours. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including stock handling, order fulfilment, and inventory management. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a fast-paced environment, with full training provided. Applicants should be physically fit, organised, and eager to contribute to a high standard of warehouse operations.
Duties
- Handling materials efficiently and safely within the warehouse environment
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery (training provided)
- Managing stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Loading and unloading goods from lorries and containers
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure product integrity
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace at all times
- Supporting mechanical maintenance tasks where required
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics preferred
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to operate forklift trucks safely (certification desirable)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, picking & packing, stocking, and load & unload activities
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for quality control tasks
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and manual handling duties
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within the warehouse team
