Role Description

The Electrical Contracts Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in North Bristol. This role oversees electrical installation projects from tender through completion, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. Typical responsibilities include managing contracts and client relationships, coordinating electricians and engineers, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The Electrical Contracts Manager will review technical specifications, prepare quotes and reports, monitor quality and compliance with relevant standards, and resolve on-site issues. The role also involves working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to support continuous improvement and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in electrical contracting or project management, ideally within BEMS, or commercial/industrial electrical installations.
• Knowledge of UK electrical regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices for installation, testing, and inspection.
• Proficiency in contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning for multiple concurrent projects.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate with clients, suppliers, and site personnel.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation, and provide clear guidance to engineering and installation teams.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality, safety, and risk management.
• Competence with standard office and project management software; familiarity with industry-specific systems is an advantage.
• Recognized electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and/or degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within an electrical or engineering environment is highly desirable, also SMSTS training would be advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites, primarily within the South West and occasionally across the UK as needed.
