Gravesend | £26,000–£30,000 + Commission | No Insurance Experience Required

Are you a confident salesperson or telemarketer looking for a proper long-term career rather than simply another sales job? Do you have the ambition, work ethic and determination to succeed in a professional industry where your knowledge, responsibilities and earning potential can continue to grow?

We are working with a rapidly growing, family-owned independent insurance broker based in Gravesend. The business specialises in commercial insurance, helping companies protect themselves against a wide range of risks, and has particular expertise within the construction sector. Due to its continued expansion, they are looking for an ambitious sales professional who can be trained and developed into a successful Commercial Insurance Sales Executive. Previous insurance experience is not required. What matters most is that you already have at least one to two years’ experience in sales, telemarketing or a similarly target-driven position and can demonstrate the right attitude to build a career within insurance.

The opportunity

You will be provided with training and support to develop your knowledge of commercial insurance, while putting your existing sales skills to immediate use. They can provide plenty of leads, so a major part of your role will involve contacting prospective clients, asking the right questions and converting genuine enquiries into new business. As your experience and confidence grow, you will also learn how to cultivate your own leads, generate referrals and build a profitable network of commercial clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting businesses that have made insurance enquiries
  • Qualifying leads and identifying genuine sales opportunities
  • Speaking confidently with business owners and decision-makers
  • Learning how to understand a company’s insurance requirements
  • Following up consistently and converting enquiries into new clients
  • Developing your own pipeline through prospecting, referrals and relationship building
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing your sales activity
  • Working closely with experienced insurance professionals
  • Building your technical knowledge and progressing within the commercial insurance market

About you

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • At least one to two years’ sales or telemarketing experience
  • Experience working towards targets or KPIs
  • A confident and engaging telephone manner
  • The resilience to handle objections and follow opportunities through
  • A proactive, hungry and highly motivated approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A willingness to learn a technical and highly respected profession
  • The ambition to develop a genuine long-term career
  • A hardworking, positive and team-focused attitude

This role will particularly suit someone who has worked in telesales, business-to-business sales, lead generation, recruitment, estate agency, automotive sales, financial services or another target-driven environment. You do not need to arrive with insurance knowledge. This broker can help you learn the industry, but you must bring the enthusiasm, commitment and sales mentality needed to succeed.

What’s on offer?

  • Salary of £26,000–£30,000, depending on relevant experience
  • Commission of 10% on all income generated above an agreed threshold
  • A regular supply of leads and sales opportunities
  • Full support while developing your commercial insurance knowledge
  • Working hours of 9am–5pm
  • Hybrid working, with Wednesdays from home
  • Four days each week in slick, modern Gravesend offices
  • 20 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Two-week company closure over Christmas
  • Workplace pension
  • Regular company events and team days
  • A supportive, family-owned working environment
  • Excellent long-term career and earning potential

This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven salesperson to break into the commercial insurance industry with a growing independent business that genuinely values people and attitude. If you are ambitious, hungry to succeed and prepared to work hard to build a rewarding career, we would love to hear from you.
