Are you a confident communications professional who can write engaging content, manage CRM campaigns and turn performance data into meaningful action? Do you enjoy working across different audiences, taking ownership of projects and seeing your ideas move quickly from concept to delivery?

CKB Recruitment is delighted to be working with an established and entrepreneurial insurance business to recruit a Communications & CRM Executive for its growing team in Shoeburyness. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where fresh ideas are encouraged, initiative is rewarded and you will have genuine ownership of the communications and CRM activity you deliver.

The Business

Our client is an established insurance group with 25 years of experience across gadget, travel and ticket protection insurance. The business manages a portfolio of embedded insurance products and direct-to-consumer brands, working with long-standing commercial partners while continuing to grow its digital presence. Its model is built around managed services, digital platforms and delivering an excellent customer experience. The culture is centred around authenticity, transparency and genuine empowerment. Employees are encouraged to share ideas, work collaboratively and approach challenges with curiosity.

The Opportunity

This is a varied communications and CRM-focused role covering both business-to-business and consumer activity. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of external communications, CRM campaigns and performance reporting across several brands and products. You will work closely with the senior leadership team, but this is very much a hands-on position. You will be expected to take ownership, manage your workload and ensure communications are delivered accurately, professionally and on time. The role would suit someone who is comfortable switching between different audiences and formats, from writing a customer retention email to preparing a partner announcement or supporting an industry event.

Your Responsibilities

  • Partner and trade communications
    • Support the company’s attendance at industry conferences and events, including logistics, content preparation and follow-up activity
    • Coordinate entries for relevant industry awards, managing submissions, supporting information and deadlines
    • Draft and distribute partner announcements, product updates and trade communications
    • Support public relations activity by preparing briefs, coordinating with external contacts and managing distribution
    • Maintain clear and consistent messaging across partner-facing channels
  • CRM and consumer communications
    • Manage the day-to-day operation of the CRM platform across the company’s consumer brands
    • Build and manage automated and manual customer communication journeys
    • Develop campaigns supporting customer retention, upselling and cross-selling
    • Write lifecycle communications that keep customers informed and engaged throughout their policy
    • Monitor email deliverability, engagement rates and overall CRM performance
    • Identify opportunities to improve customer journeys, campaign performance and CRM effectiveness
    • Coordinate consumer PR content, scheduling and distribution
  • Content and communications
    • Write and publish external communications across a variety of channels
    • Adapt content and tone of voice for different brands, audiences and formats
    • Support the wider business with partner updates, product changes and company announcements
    • Keep content, messaging and owned communication channels current
    • Respond to ad hoc communications requirements as they arise
  • Performance reporting
    • Collate campaign and channel performance data across B2B and B2C activity
    • Produce clear reports for senior stakeholders covering activity, results and recommended improvements
    • Maintain the communications performance dashboard or equivalent tracking system
    • Identify trends and patterns across channels
    • Use data and insight to support future campaign planning

What We Are Looking For

Our client is more interested in what you have achieved than the specific industries or companies you have worked within. You are likely to have:

  • Experience within a communications, CRM, email marketing or content-focused role
  • Hands-on experience using a CRM or email marketing platform
  • Experience building or managing automated customer journeys
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • The ability to adapt your tone for consumer, partner and trade audiences
  • Confidence analysing campaign results and explaining what the numbers mean
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once
  • A reliable and proactive approach, with the ability to work without constant supervision
  • A willingness to take ownership and follow projects through to completion

Experience supporting events, award submissions or PR activity would be helpful but is not essential. Previous experience within insurance, financial services, fintech or another regulated industry would also be beneficial, although our client is more interested in your creativity, judgement and practical CRM experience than industry-specific qualifications.

What Is on Offer

A salary of £32,000 - £36,000, depending on experience. A varied role with genuine ownership of communications and CRM activity. The opportunity to work across established B2B products and growing consumer brands. Regular contact with senior decision-makers. A collaborative environment where new ideas are welcomed. A culture built around openness, curiosity and transparency. Flexible working options alongside time at the Shoeburyness office. A competitive wider benefits package.

This is an excellent opportunity for a communications or CRM professional who wants more responsibility, greater variety and the freedom to make a visible impact. To apply, please submit your CV along with a short note outlining why the opportunity interests you.
