Crewe | £40,000 - £50,000 DOE + Annual Bonus + Exceptional Career Progression
Are you an experienced Commercial Account Handler looking for more than just another broking role? Do you want to be part of a business that is challenging traditional insurance broking, investing heavily in its people, and creating genuine opportunities for ambitious individuals to progress quickly? If so, this broker could be exactly what you're looking for.
Join a Broker That's Doing Things Differently
Our client is on a mission to become a true disruptor within the insurance broking market. Built around exceptional client service, technical expertise and a modern approach to broking, the business has created an environment where talented people can thrive, develop and be rewarded for their contribution. This isn't a business where progression is determined by time served or corporate hierarchy. Instead, opportunities are created for people who demonstrate the right attitude, capability and ambition. If you're someone who wants to build a long-term career, earn well for your performance and feel genuinely invested in the success of the business, you'll fit right in.
The Opportunity
As a Commercial Account Handler, you'll work closely with the Commercial Director, supporting a portfolio of large and complex commercial clients across a range of sectors. The client base typically consists of businesses with turnovers exceeding £10 million, operating predominantly within:
- Manufacturing
- Construction
- Retail
- Waste & Recycling
You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service, managing renewals and mid-term adjustments, liaising with insurers and supporting the ongoing growth and retention of these important client relationships.
Career Progression
One of the biggest attractions of this opportunity is the genuine progression available. This role offers significant exposure to complex risks and provides an excellent platform for someone looking to develop towards an Account Executive role in the future, where you will be able to take over the day-to-day running of a bulk of the Directors' accounts. For ambitious professionals, progression here is likely to be significantly faster than within many larger, more traditional brokerages.
What You'll Need
We're looking for someone who combines strong commercial insurance knowledge with the right attitude and ambition. You'll ideally have:
- Strong commercial insurance experience within an Account Handler position
- Experience managing larger and more complex commercial risks would be an advantage though not essential.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A client-first mindset and genuine passion for delivering outstanding service
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A desire to continue learning and developing professionally
- The ambition to progress into leadership responsibilities in the future
- Experience using Acturis would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
The Right Person
Technical ability is important, but attitude is equally valued. You'll be someone who:
- Is coachable and open to development
- Wants a clear roadmap for career progression
- Takes pride in delivering exceptional client service
- Genuinely cares about colleagues and clients
- Enjoys being part of a collaborative, high-performing team
- Wants to contribute to building something special
Salary & Benefits
£40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience
- Annual discretionary bonus based on company profitability, personal performance and demonstration of company values
- 30 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
- Clear progression pathway with leadership opportunities
- Exposure to complex and high-value commercial risks
- Supportive and ambitious team environment
- Modern office and excellent working culture
Working Arrangements
This role is primarily office-based, reflecting the collaborative nature of the team and the business's commitment to maintaining its strong culture. However, some flexibility may be available for candidates travelling from further afield.
Interested? If you're looking for a role where you'll be challenged, developed and rewarded—and where your career progression is determined by your contribution rather than corporate red tape—we'd love to hear from you.
