CKB Recruitment is working with an established insurance agency in Takeley to recruit a Commercial Insurance Sales Executive. This is an opportunity to take ownership of your new business activity within an ambitious, supportive team. You’ll build relationships with business owners and decision-makers, understand their insurance requirements and develop solutions that demonstrate the value of quality cover and personal service. Experienced account handlers will support the clients you bring on board through their renewals, giving you confidence in the ongoing service behind your sales.
The opportunity
- Play a key role in growing the agency’s commercial client base, focusing on businesses outside the farming sector.
- Generate your own opportunities and maintain a consistent pipeline of commercial prospects.
- Build relationships with business owners, directors and key decision-makers.
- Understand each client’s business and present tailored insurance solutions.
- Convert prospects into clients through a consultative sales approach.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across motor and personal insurance, risk management and financial services.
- Maintain accurate records using the CRM system and work within a regulated environment.
- Work closely with account handlers to support a smooth handover and ongoing client service.
What we’re looking for
- An insurance sales background is essential, alongside a proven track record of winning new business.
- Proactive, commercially aware and comfortable creating your own opportunities.
- Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to explain the value of cover and service clearly.
- A self-motivated approach and the drive to maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- A commitment to excellent customer service and long-term relationships.
- The ability to learn products quickly and retain technical information.
- Confidence using business software and CRM systems.
- At least five GCSEs, including English Language and Mathematics, meeting the employer’s stated minimum grade requirements.
The package
- £40,000–£50,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
- 5% commission on commercial new business sold.
- 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
- An additional day off for your birthday.
- Health cash plan following successful completion of probation.
- Full product training, with potential financial support towards professional qualifications.
- A supportive team with experienced account handlers looking after renewal business.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with a one-hour lunch break. Reduced or condensed hours may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
