Specifically, we now have Cook role open for qualified chefs to take on and nurture the children in our centre with yummy nutritious food. At C&K Salisbury Community Childcare Centre, we welcome children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old and provide care and early learning five days a week from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
As a home away from home, our environment provides a safe, secure and supported space for your child. Our dedicated, friendly and qualified staff nurture play-based learning, fostering a life-long love of learning. Our families love our large natural outdoor area, where we encourage children to explore, discover, play and engage in nature.

Start with 4 hours per day, 5 days a week until the end of the year, with an exciting transition to 6 hours per day, 5 days a week starting in 2025. We\’re committed to supporting your work-life balance, so hours are negotiable.
While flexibility is key, you’ll need to be available from mornings to early afternoons when working a 6-hour day. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with us while maintaining a schedule that suits your lifestyle!

As our highly valued Cook with our C&K Salisbury Community Childcare Centre team, you’ll create magical culinary experiences that nourish the bodies and minds of the children in our care.
Using our state-of-the art kitchen, you’ll whip up delicious, nutritious meals and snacks that delight even the pickiest of tiny tastebuds, creating cherished meal-time memories and supporting children to become healthy, happy and confident lifelong learners. You will design and deliver your menu with the close support of our Kitchens Operations Supervisor to ensure all our little learner’s dietary requirements are well supported.
And with no long hours, nights or weekend work, you’ll enjoy a better work-life balance with fixed, stable hours, so you can spend more quality time with friends and family.
What you’ll bring
To thrive and succeed in this role, we would love you to have:
- Valid Blue Card and current Police Check (within three months or willingness to obtain these – C&K will cover the cost).
- A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or related discipline) and Quality Food Supervisor Certificate is ideal, but we are happy to consider unqualified applicants with experience.
- Previous experience in cooking for young children or within a large commercial kitchen, plus knowledge of menu planning for dietary and nutritional requirements.
