Root Cause Analysis is a fundamental part of our clients' drive for continuous improvement in audit quality, analysing the drivers behind instances whereby audit quality falls below their high standards and identifying the drivers behind high audit quality. The Root Cause Analysis Team is being expanded as a key part of our clients' investment in audit quality and readiness for ISQM 1. Led by a partner, this small but expanding team undertakes root cause analysis using audit quality indicators and interviews with engagement teams and central audit quality functions to support the development of actions to enhance audit quality at both the engagement and audit practice level.
This is an opportunity for talented and ambitious Senior Managers to join the firm in an exciting period and help to shape the role and team. You will report into the Root Cause Analysis & Improvement Partner and work closely with the Head of Audit Quality and Risk. You will be responsible for leading root cause analysis on audits subject to internal and external audit quality inspections and other audit quality matters in conjunction with an experienced team, whilst also working with senior stakeholders across the central audit quality function to develop high impact action plans.
Requirements:
- Practical experience within audit which may be as an audit practitioner or as part of an audit quality function.
- A keen interest in exploring and understanding the factors behind positive and negative audit quality outcomes, including behavioural aspects.
- Experience of root cause analysis is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team and be able to use your own initiative.
- Strong communications skills (oral and written reports) and confidence in engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
- Well organised with strong project management skills.
