We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our ambitious technical team at C&K Meats, based in Eye, Suffolk.

As our new Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our excellent team of around four colleagues. This role is crucial to driving improved Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and audit results across our site. You will influence - and work collaboratively with - the operational teams and agree solutions together.

Reporting to our Head of Technical, you will be accountable for the daily management of our Quality department and related functions, as well as development of site standards to ensure product quality and safety are not compromised.

The role will include:

  • Being a champion for the Food Safety Culture Action Plan
  • Driving environmental hygiene standards on site, acting as the primary contact for the contract hygiene team and liaising with hygiene product suppliers
  • Internal auditing against BRCGS and customer Code of Practices as well as the identification and correction of non-conformances
  • Managing and maintaining scheduled GMP, Fabric & Glass and Plastic audits
  • Managing and maintaining the non-conforming product log to ensure timely and corrective actions are implemented and recorded, actively working with key stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Liaising with production colleagues in the preparation of product launch documentation
  • Assisting in management of traceability and mass balance exercises and schedules
  • Coordinating customer complaint investigations, formulating responses and identifying corrective action plans
  • Shop floor presence and day to day supporting of our QA's

Skills and experience we are looking for in our new Quality Assurance Manager:

  • Demonstrable experience in a food manufacturing quality role, including team management
  • HACCP Level 3
  • Internal Auditor Level 3 preferred
  • CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for Manufacturing
  • Good IT, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good communication skills
