We operate from recently expanded, state-of-the-art facilities, where we cut, prepare, pack, and deliver award-winning fresh pork products locally, nationally and worldwide. As a result, we have been awarded many accreditations, including Red Tractor, RSPCA Assured, and BRCGS A Grade certification.
There is an opportunity to join our growing team as a Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. In this hands-on role, you will provide technical assistance for our head of engineering and engineering teams, ensuring the efficient repair, modifications and improvements to company assets. You will have shared responsibility for the installation, maintenance and improvement of production lines, managing contractors and also ensuring health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to.
Day to day, your role will include assisting, identifying and analysing problems before crises occur and determining appropriate action and follow-up.
Skills and experience required:
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in mechanical and electrical engineering
- Demonstrable experience in a multi-discipline engineering role
- Working knowledge of BRC standards and customer codes of practice
- Knowledge and understanding of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Working knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems, eg. Shire
- Working knowledge and use of CMMS system (computerised maintenance management system)
- CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for Manufacturing
- HACCP, TACCP and GMP qualification
- Knowledge, understanding and compliance to hygiene and health and safety requirements – IOSHH qualification is preferable
- Competent in working with PLC systems and general fault-finding on electrical circuits. Ideally, 18th Edition qualified
- Sound fault-finding ability and a working knowledge of pneumatics and control systems
- Experience with heavy mechanical machinery
- A consistent and fair approach when implementing company policies and procedures
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to use initiative and work autonomously
