Are you a hands-on finance leader who thrives in fast-paced, operational environments? Do you enjoy bringing structure, clarity and insight where it matters most? At C&K Meats, we’re looking for a Finance Controller to play a pivotal role in our Livestock Division—someone who can stabilise, modernise and lead the full finance lifecycle while becoming a trusted partner to both finance and operational leadership.
This is more than a reporting role. It’s an opportunity to shape how finance drives performance, supports decision-making and influences the future of the business.
The Role
As Finance Controller, you’ll lead the local management accounting operation, owning everything from daily performance reporting to month-end close, while driving improvements in forecasting, governance and financial insight. You’ll work closely with the Livestock Finance Controller and partner with operations, supply chain and site leadership to ensure finance is not just reporting the past—but actively shaping the future.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Owning the end-to-end reporting lifecycle– from Daily P&L through to Weekly Accounts and Month End
- Driving faster, more accurate and decision-ready reporting
- Leading forecasting processes, including risk and opportunity tracking
- Strengthening financial governance, controls and audit readiness
- Turning data into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders
- Creating consistency in management information, reporting standards and review cadence
- Leading and developing the local Management Accounting team
- Partnering with operations to improve margin, yield, waste, labour efficiency and cost recovery
- Supporting the Finance Director in evolving the wider function and structure
- Embedding a culture of ownership, pace and accountability
What Success Looks Like - Within your first 12–18 months:
- A reliable, trusted reporting rhythm with fewer surprises
- Standardised, timely and insight-led outputs across daily, weekly and monthly reporting
- Credible forecasting that the business actively uses to drive decisions
- Stronger financial controls and governance discipline
- A more capable, accountable and high-performing team
- Recognition as a trusted finance leader
About You
You’re a commercially minded finance leader who combines technical strength with operational impact.
Essential:
- Proven finance leadership experience in manufacturing, food, FMCG or similar environments
- Strong expertise in reporting, close processes, budgeting and forecasting
- Track record of improving finance processes, controls and reporting cadence
- Experience leading teams through change while delivering day-to-day performance
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders beyond finance
- High levels of ownership, resilience and delivery under pressure
- Professionally qualified (or equivalent senior experience)
- Involvement in ERP, BI or reporting transformation initiatives
Desirable:
- Multi-site finance experience
- Exposure to livestock or food manufacturing environments
- Experience designing KPIs, reporting packs and governance frameworks
- Familiarity with Sage X3 ERP system
How You’ll Lead
- You own outcomes and follow through
- You challenge and improve how things are done
- You bring clarity and structure, not noise
- You build trust across teams and functions
- You act with pace and sound judgement
- You develop people and raise standards
- You turn data into decisions
- You stay hands-on, without losing the bigger picture
