With a family tradition in butchery stretching back more than 200 years with a passion for provenance and quality, C&K Meats is an award-winning British pork producer in the heart of Suffolk countryside. We are now proudly part of the wider CPC Foods Group and International food company Premium Food Group.

We are now recruiting for a second Butchery Supervisor. The remit will include assisting the Butchery Manager with the day-to-day leadership of the wider butchery team. Ideally suited to someone looking for career progression in butchery.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the butchery strategy in managing operational functions and achieving KPIs.
  • The Butchery Supervisors are accountable for their area and the team assigned to them.
  • Provide proactive leadership and support, controlling all functional demands, processes, and procedures.
  • As part of the leadership function, ensuring people are engaged, focused, developed, and delivering to their full potential.
  • Report to management where needed.
  • Clear communication with all site teams to ensure smooth running of the butchery department.
  • Planning what order the different providence of pigs are cut.
  • Making sure the orders for each line are met to specification.
  • Monitoring the yields and mass balance during the day.
  • Making sure colleagues are complying with HSE.
  • Monitoring the training of new starters.
  • Liaising with other departments to make sure the fridges are cleared in a manner so both deboning and slaughter can empty and fill them simultaneously.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Butchery experience.
  • Positive approach to working with colleagues and other departments.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills: communicate in a calm, assertive manner to clear objectives, provide feedback, suggest improvement for individual performance, coach and confirm competency.
  • Can prioritise and work within tight deadlines.
  • Can build a united team with an empathetic approach and first-class capability.
  • Working towards or ready to start competency framework training.
