CK Group are recruiting for a Technologist, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Wigan, on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company: Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for architectural, automotive and technical sectors. They strive to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Technologist to join their Glass Forming, Annealing and Manufacturing Technology team, and are offering a competitive salary from £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
Location: The Technologist position will be based at the company's site near Wigan, easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location.
Technologist (Forming and Annealing Glass) Role: Your main duties will be:
- Carrying out practical and theoretical work as required.
- Providing urgent technical support to production - this may involve travel at short notice.
- Interacting with other functions, e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing Excellence, Sustainability.
- Reporting to the Team Leader in Flat Glass manufacturing.
Your Background: The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Physical/Material Science or Engineering.
- 3 years' practical, industrial experience in a Material-related field, preferably glass forming/annealing.
- Project management experience - desirable.
- Full UK Driving licence.
